Marijn

Studio Pin was founded by Marijn Pin, a thinker and doer with a passion for product and furniture design with clear forms, and sometimes an extra cheeky wink. He likes to experiment in order to avoid the predictable. He likes to look for unusual pairings both in form, function and material.

In 2012, after obtaining his B.A. in architecture and interior decorating and furniture design in Mechelen Belgium and the T.U.T. in Pretoria South Africa, he turned his passion into his profession. Marijn is currently working on several projects and products. With his designs he strives for high quality without forgetting refinement. Details and simplicity are of great importance.

"To create is not just my mission, it is my lifeline.

Next to my own collection I produce unique custom furniture for both companies and the individual. I put my ideas into a detailed design which I will produce in my own studio. I consider designing a voyage of discovery in which we inspire each other.  That’s why I constantly keep in touch with you as my client. I work according to a no nonsense principle. A design should be so clear and functional that it speaks for itself. A clean story with eye-catching details that put a smile on your face.

With my handcrafted objects I express my passion for the business. I attach greater importance to quality rather than to quantity. In my studio I prefer to produce (mostly) everything myselves. Just because it’s possible. By making informed choices considering material, production method and shapes I try to realize an innovative, timeless and affordable design. A uniquely produced piece of Dutch Design is now available for everyone."
